The short version
This is my personal website. I collect the minimum I need to reply to you, send you things you asked for, and understand how the site is used. I do not sell your data. I do not run ads. Questions or requests about your data: use the contact form and I will handle it personally.
Who I am
I am Anurag Sharma, and askanurag.com is my personal site, operated from Bengaluru, India. This policy covers this website and the forms on it. It does not cover the third-party platforms I publish on (LinkedIn, YouTube, Spotify, Instagram), which have their own policies.
What I collect, and why
Contact form. When you write to me through the contact page, I collect your name, email, the topic, your message, and optionally your phone number. Your note is emailed to me, stored on this site so I do not lose it, and your name, email, topic, and phone are added to my contact system (Brevo) so I can reply and keep track of our conversation. Your IP address is logged with the submission for spam protection.
Book early reader list. If you join the early reader list on the book page, I collect your name, email, and your optional answer about what you are reinventing. You will get occasional emails about the book: chapters, notes, launch updates. Nothing else. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
Newsletter. The Operator runs on Beehiiv. When you subscribe, your email is processed and stored by Beehiiv under Beehiiv’s privacy policy. Unsubscribe anytime with one click.
Comments. If you comment on a post, the comment, your name, email, and IP address are stored, and your browser may set a convenience cookie so you do not have to re-enter your details next time.
Analytics. I use Google tools (via Site Kit) to see aggregate, anonymised numbers: which pages get read, where visitors come from, roughly where in the world they are. I see patterns, not people.
Cookies and embeds
The site uses functional cookies for performance (caching) and the analytics cookies described above. Some pages embed players from Spotify and YouTube; when you interact with an embedded player, that platform may set its own cookies and collect data as if you had visited it directly.
Where your data lives
Form submissions are stored in this site’s database (hosted with Hostinger) and in Brevo, my email and contact platform. Newsletter data lives in Beehiiv. I share your data with no one else, and I never sell it.
How long I keep it
Contact inquiries and list signups are kept for as long as they are useful for the purpose you submitted them, or until you ask me to delete them. Unsubscribing from any list stops emails immediately.
Your rights
You can ask me at any time to show you the data I hold about you, correct it, or delete it entirely, from this site, from Brevo, and from the book list. Send the request through the contact form from the email address in question, and I will action it within 30 days, usually much faster. These rights apply to everyone, including rights under India’s DPDP Act and the GDPR where applicable.
Children
This site is not directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted data here, contact me and I will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If I add a tool that changes how data is handled, I will update this page. The date below always reflects the latest revision.
