I’m Anurag Sharma. I run a 30-person marketing org at Bengaluru’s largest workspace operator. I’ve spent the last 18 months watching humans and AI work side by side every single day. And I’ve got more questions than answers.
My career didn’t start in marketing. It started in code, at TCS. Then in research, at Ipsos. In 2017 I co-founded a D2C bags brand with my mother. Bootstrapped, launched, closed in 2019. The hardest classroom I ever paid for.
In 2020, the pandemic hit. I started an unnamed content-driven agency under the Socially Desi umbrella. Solo-founded. Over the next three years, I worked with 100+ brands and produced three podcasts. The Socially Desi Show ran 100 long-form interviews with India’s marketing and creator class, and somehow ended up on Saregama Carvaan Channel 272, a Friday-Saturday-Sunday broadcast slot. Namastey India ran daily for 1,283 episodes with my friend Shivam. The Hustle Lounge picked up where the founders had stories to tell.
In 2022, I joined a pre-IPO workspace operator in India as AVP Marketing. By July 2023, I was running the function as VP. The agency went on pause. The podcasts went on pause. The day job took over.
Today, I lead Brand & Content, Growth & Experience, Community, and Digital & Performance for a pre-IPO workspace operator in India. I sit on top of 1,391+ episodes of audio with 2M+ cumulative listens, an IMDb of 9.2, and the only podcast I’m currently producing is a solo investigative show called Are We Cooked?, which asks whether humans are doomed, surviving, or thriving in the age of AI. I’m trained in B.Tech CS, an MBA from Deakin, Brand & Strategy at IE Business School (100 out of 100), and Strategic Management at IIM Bangalore. None of that is the point.
The point is this: I’ve been the engineer, the consultant, the founder, the agency owner, and now the VP. I’ve shipped product. I’ve burned capital. I’ve built a team. I’ve recorded 1,391 episodes of audio. I’ve watched AI rewrite my own job description in real time. I write about all of it on LinkedIn, talk through it on YouTube, and stress-test the future of work on the podcast.
